About Us

Who We Are

We started Cocoa Like Me in November of 2019, and since our first day we’ve lovingly packaged the best in high-quality luxury hair accessories for textured hair.

We know the difficulty of trying to find products that protect our children's delicate hair. We know that satin is the best thing to nourish and pamper our hair, but we could not find anything on the market that catered to our needs.

Hence, Cocoa Like Me was born. We saw a need for smaller, satin accessories that protect our children's from dryness hair, and to protect their hair from tangles, breakage and thinning.

Since that time, we have done our best to ensure a permanent variety of fantastic items along with unique limited edition and seasonal items to fit any budget.

Our Journey

My first trip to Ghana unfortunately was for my father-in-law’s funeral. My husband and I flew domestically to Chicago then took an overnight flight to Amsterdam, followed by another plane ride that landed in Accra, Ghana.

I had been to the Caribbean, Canada and Europe in the past, but none of my previous international travels prepared me for the awe of Ghana.

Though most of our time in Accra was devoted to honoring the life of a great man, my husband made sure that I had the opportunity to see Ghana, explore the country’s culture, and experience my African-American pilgrimage.
